Today’s Positive Thought

Tday Flwrs   Today’s Positive Thought is by Jay.

There are times we need to retreat to our inner cave and realize our worthiness to live a better life in order to release whatever we are holding onto that is keeping us where we are…time to let go of anger, hate, upset, negativity, etc. be it toward ourself or others or a situation-personal and/or professional.  There will be tears and a feeling of relief and perhaps it will be accompanied by sadness as we say goodbye to the old ways that have held us back…a symbolic death and rebirth to a new and more vibrant life.  Where I live it is Spring, and life is expressing itself by the beautiful rebirth of colors in the flowers, trees and in the bright sunny days with a gentle caressing breeze filled with the aroma of life.  Let the beauty of Spring and rebirth fill you and guide you into a new way of living and expressing your life.  Jay

Rock Bottom

Rock Bottom

By: Jay The Baker

“Ouch.  Think I hit rock bottom,” said a gentleman, with a smile, I was speaking with a couple of days ago.  This was his response to the question, “How did you become successful?”  He is now a vibrant and successful individual.  He is not the only person who has hit bottom only to rise to the top.  Many years ago I wrote a column for a paper whose owner/publisher had lost everything twice before, his millions gone.  He never gave up and told me , “This time I’m keeping it.”  He did hit his one million dollar goal and continued his climb upward.

The businessman I had been speaking with shared that he had hit some really hard times which deeply affected him on emotional, mental, and physical levels, as well as financial.  “I was at the end of my rope.  Depression was beginning to hit me hard.  I no longer could stand to be cooped up and closed off from the world around me.  I knew if I didn’t get out into the world the darkness of depression would be all-consuming and it would be all over for me.  I made a decision to clean up and go out, reluctantly at first, to have a late breakfast, walk the mall, enjoy a nice lunch and get on with my life.  Returning home that evening I sat in my chair, contemplated the day, the people I met and conversations I had during the day.  That was what helped me to move past the darkness and negativity and made life more manageable for me. ”

He continued, “As the days passed I would continue to revisit those places which gave me a positive boost while improving my outlook on life and myself.  I had conversations which offered me insight, learned more about people and that my life wasn’t as bad as I thought.  Long story short, I began to meditate, set goals, investigated different areas which held an interest for me and when one popped out at me, I at once saw myself as extremely successful in this field of endeavor.  Today, I am reaping the benefits of my decision to get out and live life.  If it wasn ‘t for hitting rock bottom and moving out of the negativity I don’t know if I would still be above ground.”

As I sat listening to his story I was deeply moved by his desire to move upward and be a mentor.  As he left we shook hands and wished each other continued success.  We never did introduce ourselves but he did say he was from out-of-state.

It was a joy meeting this man and what an inspiration he is to world around him.  In the interest of brevity this story was shortened as he shared so much information with me.  I will write more about this encounter next week.

I want to share a quote given to me years ago, “Rock Bottom is the Springboard to Success.”

Wishing you success in all you do,

Jay

Choices

Reach For The Stars   The choices you make affect your life and experiences.

We always have a choice, even when there seems to be none.

We have the choice to act or react to a situation in words and/or deeds.

Life is filled with choices and how we choose impacts our life.

Our choices will either limit our experiences  or allow us to expand and experience more in our life.

We always have the choice to be in a static/stagnant experience or be in a vibrant, alive and enriching experience.

So, why not opt to follow a dream, a desire, and set a goal or two for a better life?  The choice is yours.

The life you live is your own.  All forms of success and prosperity await your recognition and acceptance.  Decide to move forward and experience better living and a more rewarding life.

You already are the success you desire to be!

For which I am truly grateful.

Quite Contrary

There is a child’s rhyme which poses a question to a young lass, by the name of Mary, who apparently is quite contrary, how does her garden grow?

Well, how does our garden grow?

We all know when left unattended gardens and flower beds fill with weeds which overtake and choke the life and beauty out of the gardens and flower beds.

I remember my aunt weeding her flower beds every weekend.  The flowers were always beautiful and colorful.  As we weed out the negatives and fears that reside in our mind, we blossom into a beautiful and colorful expression of a life of abundance, beauty, prosperity and success.  Life is vibrant and so are we.

So, what about us?  Are we ready to weed our mental garden and let the beauty and vibrancy of life appear?

Just as in weeding a garden we start in one area and take it one step at a time.

Perhaps as we think about where to begin we have a revelation of what is going on that is constricting our living and receive an inspiration or two on how to move forward…finding the inner fortitude of, “I am not going to take this anymore” attitude; which is the impetus to jettison the garbage, weedy, thoughts and beliefs that have been hindering our blossoming success.

Life, as we all know, takes us at our own valuation.  As we weed out those strangling thoughts and beliefs we see a ray of light and improvements arising in our life.  We fertilize and water our mental garden with positive thoughts and blossoming new concepts about ourselves and our world

No one can make us change.  It is our decision whether we want to or not.  When we finally get tired of existing and decide to step up and forward to new and more profitable ways of being and living, then and only then will we initiate the weeding process and change  our life.

Our starting point is positive affirmations, using them daily and throughout the day as needed for positive re-enforcement. Visualization is a technique we can use to help us see where we want to be and enjoying the successful results.  Handing ourselves a congratulatory bouquet of roses is a way of showing our love and appreciation of ourselves in this endeavor.

Affirm your self-acceptance, self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth.  You were not created for mediocrity but for success.  You are meant to be prosperous and to live well.

We are more than adequate to be successful, no matter what we have been told, no matter where we are in life.  Many years ago I attended a talk by Og Mandino.  He was at one time successful, ended up living on the streets, went to end his life but…he became a well-known author and speaker.  There are those who read this blog who have been down and out, on the skids, and are now successful and mentoring others along the way.

How many inspirational people do you know other than yourself?  Inspirational people are all around us if we but look and listen.  Look at your life; what you have been through, what you have accomplished, what you have survived.

You are a phenomenal representation of life.  Don’t ever forget it and don’t ever give up on yourself!  Give yourself the credit due you.  Yeah, we’ve all had mistakes and problems which have occurred in our life, which was in the past.  Let go of  the past, and move on with living and flowering into a new vibrant exciting you.  Wallowing in the muck and mire of the past is not profitable; learn from it and move forward in living your life.

Look forward to the day, look forward to new beginnings.  Remember, you are a winner and never forget it.

Life is wonderful and so are you!!

Your Affirmation: I am a success now and no-thing can stop me from having  and accomplishing greater good in my life.”
