A Friend

A Friend

By: Jay

Director's Chair  I have been talking with a friend of mine who has resurrected their acting career and union membership after a very long hiatus from the industry and is looking for representation, a talent agent.

They are very good, have a fantastic acting coach and are brushing up on film and television acting techniques.

Now about the comments they are receiving from different people in the industry, they are not always positive.

So, how are they dealing with all these comments?  First and foremost my friend has had many obstacles to overcome and is not of the mind to accept any negatives after all they have been through.  They are affirming throughout the day that they are “drawn to the right talent agent at the right time and the right talent agent is drawn to them at the right time,”  right roles, etc.,  always affirming the positive and visualizing their career taking off and being a full time, award winning, well paid actor.  Believing in ourselves, our talent and ability is a key to moving ahead in any life/career choice we make.

Each of us has had to overcome obstacles in our life/careers and it is about being positive in moving forward that has carried us to our goals.  We affirm the positives throughout the day, we take time to meditate, sit quietly and visualize the completion of our goals and see ourselves enjoying and reaping the benefits of these goals.  But most of all, we are thankful for having now achieved our goals, even though they may not be in sight.  Life is what we make it and what we proclaim it to be in our thoughts and words.

All of us have encountered people in our field of work who like to spew negatives about how hard or difficult it is or how long it will take to advance, etc.  It is only as hard or difficult as we choose to make it.

Treat yourself well and take time to do the inner work and watch it appear in the outer world, cause and effect.

Shakespeare wrote,

“All the world’s a stage,

And all the men and women merely players;

They have their exits and their entrances,

And one man in his time plays many parts…”

Perhaps it is time to rewrite the current script and create a more successful version of the character you are now portraying on the stage of life.

The reviews are in and the critics are raving about your success!!

Changes & Personal Letter

Pic Of Jay   Hello Friends,

There are changes coming to this blog, PCA.  Since I am now able to pursue career choices, which are near and dear, January will be last month that there will be daily posts of positive statements and articles.  There will be at least 3 posts per week of positive statements and on occasion articles.

Life is always full of changes and most are unexpected but changes are inevitable and life must go on and goals to reach.

This blog began in August of 2011 for purely cathartic purposes, to get my mind and creativity active.  The healing process from the full respiratory arrest and coma has taken time and persistence.  But, what I have learned about myself, family, friends, is priceless.  I have found that rebuilding my self-confidence in doing what I love has been an extreme task entailing lots of risks, being able to look at things in a totally different light, and has deepened my understanding of self, others and this world.  Having the support and love of my wife and dear friends to pursue my career choices has been and is immeasurable.

I am so thankful and appreciative of you, my fellow bloggers and followers, for staying with me through some dark and turbulent times.

Life is always presenting us with unique pathways to follow, if we dare.

Words cannot express my thanks for your comments and likes; they have strengthened me and my resolve in moving forward.

Should you decide to publish any of the articles which I have written please notify me and e-mail the name of the publication via the page titled “Contact Jay,” thanks.  In re-blogging or using any of the quotes please give credit to the author.

Thank you for your support and prayers.

As I begin my search for both talent and literary agents I know that you are backing me and that means the world to me.

Now for personal thanks to those who gave me opportunities early on.  I am thankful to all the editors/publishers who asked me to be a regular contributing columnist on positive attitudes for their publications and to interview successful local business owners.  I am thankful for being asked to speak to a variety of groups over the years.  I am thankful to our friend Ruth, who gave me the opportunity to be her successor on her television show and to create my own show and format many years ago.  I am thankful for my acting teacher, Jobyna, a wonderful and talented character actress.  I am very thankful to the director who recently cast me for a stage production, with much stage time and dialogue, and for her affirmative comments as to my acting chops (skills).  I am thankful to my first talent agent, Ruth, who backed me 100%.  To our friend Mokihana, a great talent, much Aloha.  Thanks to all of you for you.

Being thankful, even for the not so good stuff, is an important part of successful living.

Please stay in touch through the comment section and let me know how you and your goals are coming along.  Your comments will not be published

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this rather long post.

All my best to you always and in all ways,

Jay

Claim your success!  You deserve it.  Jay

Variety Of Experiences, Part 1 of 2

There are a variety of experiences that lead us to our destination, our goal.  Some are great and wonderful and build our enthusiasm and ego to move on with gusto; others are dark, murky and negative that leaves us flat on the ground wondering what the hell we are doing.  Ah, the wonder of contrasts keeps us honest and on track without an overinflated ego, affords us a new take on self-perception and our idea.  Both the positive and negative are needed for us to become the success that we have planned and to be the best person that we can be. I have met a few extremely successful people in my life and the ones that truly out pictured their great success where those who did not have an over inflated ego or better than thou attitude. They were humble, gracious; thankful for the life they have and treated all with respect.

The road to success is paved with attitude, belief and desire.  No matter what people say to us or about our idea or goal it is up to us to take it and use it for our betterment or to toss it.  At times we meet individuals who have lost sight of their dream and desire to be more and to express more of who they are and have let their talent and ability go latent, back into the tightly closed shell.  They can be mean spirited and not only negative about life but others who are successful or on the way to success.  I am sure we have all encountered this type of person, a person who does not know or accept their worth and when they see others on the move they become jealous and upset at themselves for not doing something with their life. This individual is one who I pray for to realize their potential and move from this lower level of thought to a higher one and to embrace themselves, their talents and their abilities.  Let us not allow their words or deeds to affect us  as we travel on the road to our success.

Part 2 follows tomorrow.
