A Sunday Thought

A Sunday Thought is by William Blake.

AUGURIES OF INNOCENCE

To see a World in a grain of sand,

And a Heaven in a wild flower,

Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,

   And Eternity in an hour.

Friday Zen

Friday Zen is by Alice Walker.

“Every small positive change we make in ourselves repays us in confindence in the future.”

Friday Poem

Friday Poem is by Ella Wheeler Wilcox.

Thought is a magnet, and the longed pleasure,

Or boon, or aim, or object, is the steel,

And its attainment hangs on but the measure

Of what thy soul can feel.

Today’s Positive Thought

Today’s Positive Thought is by Ella Wheeler Wilcox.

All is in the Silence waiting to be brought

Forth to form and substance by the builder, Thought,

That is how God fashioned everything He wrought,

Everything you long for, in the Silence wait,

Yours the power to shape them either soon or late,

But be very careful how you form your fate.

Understanding

The poem, Understanding, is by Nixon Waterman.

If I knew you and you knew me,

If both of us could clearly see,

And with an inner sight divine

The meaning of your heart and mine,

I’m sure that we would differ less,

And clasp our hands in friendliness;

Our thoughts would pleasantly agree

If I knew you and you knew me.

Poem on Goals

One of my favorite poems/prose is by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, since I have been writing about goals this  poem on goals seemed to be appropriate.

One ship drives East and another drives West,

With the selfsame winds that blow,

‘Tis the set of the sails

      And not the gales

That tells them where to go.

Like the winds of the sea are the winds of fate

As we voyage along through life,

‘Tis the set of the soul

     That decides the goal

And not the calm or the strife.
