Positive Attitudes With A Baking Twist

What About Success?

What About Success?

In a conversation this morning the topic of being successful and what it takes to get there was discussed.

Our talk boiled down to the following: A Definite Mind Set on being successful, Determination, Persistence, Enthusiasm, Goal Setting, Keeping On when obstacles appear and last, but by no means least, Never Ever Give Up On The Dream!

Although the person was not one to flaunt their wealth, they had finally splurged on a new car, a Maserati.  An effect of being successful in their field of work, it was also the family car.

When we get sick and tired of being stuck where we are and what we are experiencing, or not experiencing, we  can be motivated to finally say, “Enough!” It is then, that, we can begin a new journey to new and more successful  experiences in all areas of our life.

Today’s Positive Thought

Truly, “thoughts are things,” and powerful things at that, when they are mixed with definiteness of purpose, persistence, and a burning desire for their translation into riches, or other material objects.

Moving Through Fear

Important for us to remember when we are going through tough times is to remain focused on the positive; and not to dwell upon the situation that can feed the fear and create more “stuff” in our life that is not helpful in resolving the situation to a positive conclusion.

When we give in to fear we are allowing “fear” to be in charge of the situation and not us.  Fear is not a conscious thing, we are.  Since we are conscious and self-aware beings with the power and ability to change our life for the better why do we forget this when our life experience is in turmoil?  The fear can be so overwhelming it becomes all-consuming, clouds our mind, fills us with doubt and “what ifs” that become our point of focus.  Having been there and experienced this fear I know how devastating it can be.  But it is in our pushing forward with determination, intent and purpose that we overcome the fear and bring light to a dark time in our life.

When I returned home after being in a drug induced coma, due to a respiratory arrest, fears popped up and were accompanied by “what ifs” on a daily basis.  These things occupied my mind throughout the day.  Once the effect of the drug used to keep me in a coma began to lessen I was determined to push myself forward.  This meant setting realistic goals.  Simple goals in the beginning and then more complex goals were set as the weeks, months and years went by. My one great fear was that I lost my ability to be creative, to be able to write and pursue other creative avenues that required me to use my mind in a variety of ways.  I had to face my fears one at a time, step by step, and be willing to take a break when “things” became overwhelming for me.  This blog is the result of one of the first goals I set.

Life is going to be what we make it.  What carries us forward in dark times?  It is being aware that we are conscious beings who have the power and ability to move forward in lifeIt is keeping focused on what we want not what we don’t want.  We move through the fear and send it back to the void from which it came by our determination, persistence, purpose and goal setting.  Giving our power away to non-living fear is not worth the consequences, as we all well know.  The power is ours to create the life we desire to live and express on a daily basis.

Live your life to the best of your ability.  Succeed to the level you desire.  Have an attitude of gratitude.  Recognize you are a valuable human-being endowed with special gifts and talents particular to you to succeed in expressing Life Itself as you.  You are and there is no question about it!

“The starting point of all achievement is desire.’

“There may be no heroic connotation to the word ‘persistence,’ but the quality is to the character of man what carbon is to steel.”

I attended a function, recently, where some sat in judgment of others before even getting to know them or their history. Once they learned of the challenges these individuals overcame to arrive at this point in their lives and careers they were contrite.  It truly saddened me at how these wonderful people were treated at the beginning of this function.  It did conclude on a very happy note for everyone.

In speaking to one individual, concerning overcoming challenges we face in life, in general terms, we both agreed that persistence and dedication to moving forward in life are two important keys to successful living and a successful career.  Life is what we make it.  Each of us has our challenges to overcome and each of us have conquered hurdles in our life, of which we should be proud of ourselves in our moving forward

Successful living is taking one step at  a time toward our goals and desires, learning along the way, what works for us and what doesn’t work for us on the road to greater well-being and success.

I congratulate you on all you have overcome in life and your dedication and persistence to continue living in a positive and prosperous manner.

Changes & Personal Letter

Pic Of Jay   Hello Friends,

There are changes coming to this blog, PCA.  Since I am now able to pursue career choices, which are near and dear, January will be last month that there will be daily posts of positive statements and articles.  There will be at least 3 posts per week of positive statements and on occasion articles.

Life is always full of changes and most are unexpected but changes are inevitable and life must go on and goals to reach.

This blog began in August of 2011 for purely cathartic purposes, to get my mind and creativity active.  The healing process from the full respiratory arrest and coma has taken time and persistence.  But, what I have learned about myself, family, friends, is priceless.  I have found that rebuilding my self-confidence in doing what I love has been an extreme task entailing lots of risks, being able to look at things in a totally different light, and has deepened my understanding of self, others and this world.  Having the support and love of my wife and dear friends to pursue my career choices has been and is immeasurable.

I am so thankful and appreciative of you, my fellow bloggers and followers, for staying with me through some dark and turbulent times.

Life is always presenting us with unique pathways to follow, if we dare.

Words cannot express my thanks for your comments and likes; they have strengthened me and my resolve in moving forward.

Should you decide to publish any of the articles which I have written please notify me and e-mail the name of the publication via the page titled “Contact Jay,” thanks.  In re-blogging or using any of the quotes please give credit to the author.

Thank you for your support and prayers.

As I begin my search for both talent and literary agents I know that you are backing me and that means the world to me.

Now for personal thanks to those who gave me opportunities early on.  I am thankful to all the editors/publishers who asked me to be a regular contributing columnist on positive attitudes for their publications and to interview successful local business owners.  I am thankful for being asked to speak to a variety of groups over the years.  I am thankful to our friend Ruth, who gave me the opportunity to be her successor on her television show and to create my own show and format many years ago.  I am thankful for my acting teacher, Jobyna, a wonderful and talented character actress.  I am very thankful to the director who recently cast me for a stage production, with much stage time and dialogue, and for her affirmative comments as to my acting chops (skills).  I am thankful to my first talent agent, Ruth, who backed me 100%.  To our friend Mokihana, a great talent, much Aloha.  Thanks to all of you for you.

Being thankful, even for the not so good stuff, is an important part of successful living.

Please stay in touch through the comment section and let me know how you and your goals are coming along.  Your comments will not be published

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this rather long post.

All my best to you always and in all ways,

Jay
