New Chapter

Congrats Toast   This past Saturday a chapter of my life was closed, a bit overdue, and a new chapter opened with new career paths.  New Endings and New Beginnings were the order of the day.  There was a celebration that included the ending of the old and welcoming the new with friends from both past and present.  A bright and sunny future greeted me with; open arms, new friends and colleagues.

Opportunities are on the rise and I look forward to investigating them all.

I was a bit hesitant about the closing of this last chapter in my old life and had to make a decision to be true to myself, my desires, my dreams, while setting goals along the way.

Life is always giving us cues and clues about the changes that will bring us more joy and happiness in our life and in our relationship with ourselves, family, friends and colleagues.  It all depends on when we are ready to gird our loins and move forward into a new life experience which will bring us great fulfillment as an individual.

One of my favorite partial quotes is by Wm. Shakespeare, “To be or not to be…”  I chose to be me.  Not always the easiest decision to make when it affects all areas of your life.

The journey ahead is filled with excitement and newness.  This new life has been tugging at me for quite a few years and it appears the decisions made were at the right time.

I wish you continued success on your journey to being you and to all you set your mind and hands.

Changes & Personal Letter

Pic Of Jay   Hello Friends,

There are changes coming to this blog, PCA.  Since I am now able to pursue career choices, which are near and dear, January will be last month that there will be daily posts of positive statements and articles.  There will be at least 3 posts per week of positive statements and on occasion articles.

Life is always full of changes and most are unexpected but changes are inevitable and life must go on and goals to reach.

This blog began in August of 2011 for purely cathartic purposes, to get my mind and creativity active.  The healing process from the full respiratory arrest and coma has taken time and persistence.  But, what I have learned about myself, family, friends, is priceless.  I have found that rebuilding my self-confidence in doing what I love has been an extreme task entailing lots of risks, being able to look at things in a totally different light, and has deepened my understanding of self, others and this world.  Having the support and love of my wife and dear friends to pursue my career choices has been and is immeasurable.

I am so thankful and appreciative of you, my fellow bloggers and followers, for staying with me through some dark and turbulent times.

Life is always presenting us with unique pathways to follow, if we dare.

Words cannot express my thanks for your comments and likes; they have strengthened me and my resolve in moving forward.

Should you decide to publish any of the articles which I have written please notify me and e-mail the name of the publication via the page titled “Contact Jay,” thanks.  In re-blogging or using any of the quotes please give credit to the author.

Thank you for your support and prayers.

As I begin my search for both talent and literary agents I know that you are backing me and that means the world to me.

Now for personal thanks to those who gave me opportunities early on.  I am thankful to all the editors/publishers who asked me to be a regular contributing columnist on positive attitudes for their publications and to interview successful local business owners.  I am thankful for being asked to speak to a variety of groups over the years.  I am thankful to our friend Ruth, who gave me the opportunity to be her successor on her television show and to create my own show and format many years ago.  I am thankful for my acting teacher, Jobyna, a wonderful and talented character actress.  I am very thankful to the director who recently cast me for a stage production, with much stage time and dialogue, and for her affirmative comments as to my acting chops (skills).  I am thankful to my first talent agent, Ruth, who backed me 100%.  To our friend Mokihana, a great talent, much Aloha.  Thanks to all of you for you.

Being thankful, even for the not so good stuff, is an important part of successful living.

Please stay in touch through the comment section and let me know how you and your goals are coming along.  Your comments will not be published

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this rather long post.

All my best to you always and in all ways,

Jay

Claim your success!  You deserve it.  Jay

My World

What A Day

I have been foraging through artwork and photos from the past…lots of them.  I am focusing on the black and white photos from pre 1920’s and up to the 1960’s.

When my mother passed on we found a plethora of photos of her family, with my father, and with her friends.  Some very fine posed ones as well.

My mother never did follow her dream to become a dress designer in NYC, although she did design her own clothes, shirts for my father and me, and hand puppets for my puppet shows at school.  There were opportunities for her to work at top places after high school but she didn’t buck the trend to get married or engage in a career she desired. No matter how I tried over the years to have her design clothes, dresses in particular-her forte, and start something with someone or by herself it was always met with, “No.”  The main reason she gave was her age and that she was too old, she had been saying that for over 30 years.  She was a fantastic artist, designer and wrote poetry.  It saddened me to see her talents and abilities go unused and give up her artwork.  Neither she nor my father followed their dreams/desires and it showed.

When time permits, and the pc and scanner co-operate, I will be sharing the photos on the PCA blog.

No matter how much we love someone and see how talented they are, if they are not willing to step out and take up the cause no matter how much prodding on our part, then, it is their choice alone.  Of course I would mention design every year and it was always the same response.  If and when the time comes and the fire is lit within them to go forward we will be there and be supportive of all their endeavors.

For me, I am following my dreams and desires…no time like the present, no matter what your age.  As I head into the next decade, and celebrate my age, I welcome it with open arms and enthusiasm for the good that is now entering my life.

Life, you gotta live it.

Wishing you only the best in all things,

       Jay
