For many it consists of sending holiday cards and gifts, weaving through crowded parking lots hoping and praying that a parking space opens up near the store or mall entrance. Some are getting all the food and ingredients for holiday festivities and family gatherings. Some of us are traveling to see family and/or friends for the holiday(s). Some are staying home and having a quiet celebration. We are all busy one way or another.
Over the past year we have all had challenges in some area of our life, i.e. health, financial, work, etc.
As we move through this “uniqueness” and range of emotions we focus on moving forward and setting goals for the rest of the year and the New Year. It is important for us not to get so caught up in the problem that we are unable to see the forest for the trees. The more we focus on the not so wonderful situations the more prevalent and intense they become.
Thus, the reason for this article. No matter what comes down the pike it is how we decide to handle said situation. We can either react or act. The choice we make is important. By reacting we are allowing the situation to control us; by acting we are taking control of the situation. This is not to say we aren’t experiencing a slight panic or full range of emotions, it means we are deciding not to allow our emotional state to dictate the goings on.
So, on your Holiday To Do List take a bit of time for yourself and think of the goals you want to set, breathe, relax a bit, get focused and move forward with a song on your lips and in your heart.
Celebrate the beauty of life that is within you and let that glorious light of yours shine to the world and behold the miracle of you.
Mystery is it foreboding or is it a challenge? Some make it their life’s work to solve a mystery others see it as something to be left alone. What mysteries do each of us desire to solve and how many of us just leave them alone, wishing and hoping they will disappear.
Mystery surrounds our very living…the mystery of life. How does our mind work, the brain is the physical vehicle that the mind operates through. Our mind is invisible, it is part of the unseen things in this world, let us call it a world of mystery where there are more things than meets the eye.
The mystery we all may be looking to solve is, “How do I…?” We can fill in with the words, “get ahead,” “get more money,” or “get a better job.”
Some believe that we live in a world of illusion. Some believe that we create the world around us both individually and collectively. Some believe that the world in which they live is out of their control. Some just don’t give a hoot and move through life like a robot on automatic unaware of anything around them, nor do they care to know.
Life is a simple mystery, it is about living. But what do we see as living? Are we allowing ourselves to be influenced by the outside so that our inner beliefs coincide with the outer or allowing the inner to influence the outer to coincide with the inner thoughts and beliefs? I believe both. We are spiritual beings being human, as many I know like to say. We are a power unto ourselves and the life we live is the life we choose inwardly according to our thoughts, beliefs and concepts about self, our self-worth for instance, and the world around us. Some chalk up life to karma, reincarnation, and don’t believe they can change it, well, if you don’t change you will be repeating the pattern and stay stuck, something I don’t think any of us truly desire. The mystery of life is to live it, from the inner to the outer, the Law of Cause and Effect in action. Life can only be to us what we believe and accept it to be, no more and no less. Geez, do I have to clean up my act! How about you?
Well, now that we know something about the mystery of life what are you and I willing to do to alter the course we are currently following? The choice is ours. Life is about living and living it well.
You are and always have been worthy of the highest and best, accept it, let it be a core belief, thought and concept to lead you forward into new beginnings and a new fruitful life experience.
How often do we ever think about living in the moment, the now?
It seems we tend to view the past or skip to the future but overlook the present moment in which we are living and breathing, perhaps not even aware of this present moment in time.
It is in this present moment that we can take action to create a better future moment to enjoy.
Do we allow the past moments to influence our future, of course we do. Until we take the time to cease letting the past repeat itself in the future we exist in a vicious circle of history repeating itself and the future moment relived with all the angst of the past and perhaps more. But the angst relived is always in the present which is the future we had set up in the past present moment of a moment ago.
Life is an awareness of self, of our power, talent, and ability to express It in all It’s great good in the here and now.
We can let past melancholia seep into the future present moment of time or we allow ourselves to take control of our thoughts, beliefs and concepts to initiate a more wonderful future present moment. Life is how we direct it to be. Life takes the form of what we deeply believe it is and what we believe we are and worthy of in living our life.
It is the simplicity of living that can be the hardest to achieve with all the fears and blocks we have set up for ourselves to better living. Do we all have our challenges to overcome? Yes, each and every one of us.
As we go forward let us not put ourselves down because “I am not…,” but build ourselves up because “I am…”
Each and every obstacle, challenge, problem that comes our way allow us to utilize the power of our mind to vanquish them with positivity, faith, trust, and confidence in that we are the power over that which has none. Those non-living “things” only have as much power over us as we give them.
YOU ARE THE POWER AND AUTHORITY IN YOUR LIFE, HERE AND NOW.
When things get a bit out of whack in my thinking and I am in a bit of a quandary the phrase, “As a man thinketh, ” flashes in my mind. I am then reminded the erratic winds of fate and fear do not control the situation, I do through my thoughts, beliefs and concepts.
I ask myself, “Who rules? The outer or the inner?” Without question it is always the inner. If I opt to give power to the outer to control me, for some reason or another, I will suffer the consequences from giving my power away. Having done this in the past, more times than I care to remember, it was a long and hard road to travel with wailing and gnashing of teeth. Important to remember; listen to that still small voice within for guidance!
There are times we temporarily let fear come in and wreak havoc. Not a good feeling. When we acknowledge the fear, stare it in the face and send it packing we take back our power. Had this happen recently. Once I realized what I was allowing to control my thoughts, I confronted the fear and sent it packing from my mind and life. Afterward I did some meditation work to get back on track. The inner is always stronger than the outer.
As we come to understand our inner power, accept, and acknowledge that our words, thoughts and beliefs when backed with emotion and enthusiasm come to pass; we can change the situation and move forward with a joyous heart and calm mind to our success in life.
Moving forward is about recognition of self. It is about self-empowerment.
As Ernest Holmes so aptly stated, “Our every thought creates.”
