William Shakespeare wrote. “To be or not to be…”  This is our question about our creative career(s) and our life.  What is it we want to be?  Do we want to continue as is or do we want to move into a greater sense and experience of well-being, prosperity, success and yes, money?  There is power in our thoughts, words, decisions, and concept of the world around us. It is always our choice what we decide to give power to in our life and career.  Be positive in your self-concept and in all you do to achieve your goals as a creative individual.  As actors, writers and creatives we are always playing “make believe,” so why not utilize our skill of “make believe” to create the career and life we desire and to accomplish our goals.  Life will always honor us by reflecting back to us what we accept as true about ourselves and our world of experience.

Goals 2015

When I present motivational talks one of the topics concerns either muddling through life or living life with a goal oriented vision.

If we are to achieve our dreams and desires it demands that we change/alter the way we think and believe about our self, our world of experience, our self-concept and our belief in our innate talents and abilities.  We are not meant to muddle through life, it is a choice one makes to muddle through life with the, “Alas, woe is me,” attitude and belief system.  Living a fuller and richer life in all aspects is also a choice.  It is more than a “can do attitude,” it is in knowing we are worthy and capable of achieving a better life experience.  The “toys” we gather along the way are effects/results of being more successful in life.

How many people do we know who have faced severe health challenges and have overcome them and used not only a positive attitude but an inner fortitude to conquer the seeming unconquerable?  Part of their going forward is in their setting of goals, be they aware of it or not.

Procrastination in setting our goals means it will take more time to achieve our dreams and desires of a better life and living conditions.  I have firsthand knowledge of this situation, not something I recommend.  The longer we wait to put our mind to at least setting a basic blueprint of the direction we want to go, the longer we are missing opportunities that will open the doors to our success.  For instance, if I don’t listen to my intuition and write up an idea at that moment it is a lost opportunity and that idea/inspiration may or may not come again into mind.  I am sure you have had similar experiences.  Can’t tell you how many opportunities I missed due to not having a basic idea/blueprint of what I wanted to achieve, that has since changed.  How about you?

Change The Trend

One of the great things about life is our ability to change the trend, the direction; it is taking by our thoughts, beliefs and concepts.  We are unlimited beings with the power and ability to create a better life.  Life is about expansion, expansion of our limitations, about increasing our awareness of self as a being not only filled with possibilities and potential but with the power to make our dreams come true, should we desire to do so.

Life is about living fully and prosperously not merely existing as a human automaton.  It is about moving forward; changing directions, testing the waters of new beginnings to see if that is the way we want to go or not.  It is about you and me taking the risk to be us, to enjoy life and all we are doing to improve our life experience.  There are no limits except for those we set for ourselves.  Let us remove from our thoughts and beliefs those ideas about limitation and try a new idea, a new direction, a new way of being; replacing the stale, dried out, withered, old,  limited and unproductive concepts with fresh new ideas, choosing one to follow and see where it takes us.  No one is stuck in life unless they choose to be.  I’ve been stuck, you’ve been stuck, and we have been able to remove ourselves from the muck and mire by pulling ourselves up and out for greater and greater achievements.  Life is waiting for each of us to make our demands on it for our better living by allowing ourselves to welcome and initiate new and expansive ideas, concepts, thoughts and beliefs.

Expanding our limitations is all we can do.  We are finite beings living in and infinite universe and as we are finite we will never encompass the infinite but will experience it to the degree we so choose. 

Life is swirling all around us and it us up to us to enter the flow for a happier living experience.  We are the captains of our ship on the waters of life, time to set sail for new and uncharted waters to explore, to boldly go where we have not dared to go before, to gird our loins and set sail into a new adventure on the high seas of life.  The good we seek is here for us now. Let us be open to our good and accept it into our mind and heart, being thankful that it is now in our life.

You are more than you think you are.

Today’s Positive Thought

Life Happens

   Once in awhile Life Happens. 

Most of the time we run on automatic, not really thinking nor really aware of what is going in and around us, just doing like an automaton (robot).   You noticed I did not write living but doing a very big distinguishable difference. 

Life Happens when we begin to take stock in ourselves, become self-aware and pay attention to that which we are thinking, what is going on around us and decide, fully aware, what we will allow to influence us.  Why not declare and accept our greater good and get our thoughts, beliefs and concepts in line with our goals, our desires and our dreams?  Life is merely waiting for our acceptance of It to grace us with Its greater good which is swirling ’round about us waiting for us to open the door of acceptance that it may flood our being, our lives, with the riches of life, seen and unseen.    

Life happens when we realize our value as an individual and accept that we are worthy of greater and more positive and enriching ways of living and experiencing life and living.  As we increase our self-awareness, self-worth, self-confidence, and self-acceptance we move in an upward and forward direction reaping the benefits of this new way of thinking and believing in ourselves.  Time to get off the pity pot, get rid of the “poor me” attitude, scrap the self-doubt, and enter into the power of self-realization.  As has been said, “You are the power.”  

Positive and productive thinking is our start.  As we apply the principles of positive mental attitudes to our life we will see a definite turnaround of events.  Time to eradicate the doubt and disbelief and embrace Life with a deeper faith in self, knowing that our creative mind, our imagination-the key element for visualization of our greater good, and thoughts can and will bring us success and victory over that which appears to be not so wonderful at the current moment.  Watch as the veil of disbelief lifts and reveals the light of a wondrous day, a wonderful moment a fantastic now experience. 

Believe in yourself, your power and ability to do and to be the successful and prosperous person you desire to be.

Your Time Is Now. Let Life Happen!

“What if”?

   I sit here this morning at the dining room table wondering “what if” about a variety of subjects and how it would be “if”; but I dwell in the abstractions of life and see things perhaps in a different light than most, as has been apparent all my life in the fields I am part of: writing, acting, public speaking, the ministry (retired for the most part), baking, cooking, the arts in general. 

The creativity we seek for moving forward to better living is an abstract, it is a cause that evolves in our mind as an idea to take action on and if we choose to follow that inspiration so be it. 

Much of the way we seem to be living is by allowing the outside events to control and influence us to the point of upset, dismay, discontent and the like.   

Life is always lived from within out.  The outer life is a reflection of our inner convictions, beliefs, and concepts.  Do unexpected things happen in our life, of course they do, we are part of this world and the unexpected does pop up, but is it really unexpected or is it a fear or thought that has been planted from years ago that is now coming into our life? Is it because we are part of other peoples lives who are experiencing life at their level of belief and causes us heartache or upset due to the love or caring we have for them?  Is it because we need to learn something from this experience which will not only help us but others?  Is it something about fear, say of moving forward or of grasping a new idea to lead us onward and upward, or, could it be the manifestation of our dissatisfaction with our job or our life in general that is causing us angst as a physical condition?  “What if” it is?

“What if” you and I decided to take action, beginning in our mind-abstract thought-causation (all thought is abstract), to change/alter our response to a situation? What if” we did?  Would we benefit from it?  Yes.  What would we learn from this new perspective?  Perhaps it would be learning how to handle this type of situation without giving it power to upset us, maybe it would be a gaining a greater understanding of not only the situation and those involved but of ourselves as well.  “What if” our thoughts are truly “things” in the invisible world of causation that when impressed on the receptive substance of the Universe takes form in our life according to that specific thought?  Just, “what if?”

“What if” I or someone else told you, you have more power over your life than you currently think or believe and you actually believed it?  What would you do to change the course of your life to make it better?  What thoughts would you change permanently, or would you even be willing to give them up because you are more comfortable in the predictable outcomes.  We have all been there.  We are at times more comfortable with the uncomfortable and the predictable because it is known and the unknown can scare the Hades out of us.  Been there and it is not fun, as you no doubt well know.  “What if” we changed?

“What if” I told you that positive thinking is merely a beginning step to self-realization where in the understanding of the abstract brings forth the concrete, material, form of that knowing?  “What if” you and I started today to take charge of our thinking, our beliefs and concepts concerning ourselves and our world of experience?  “What if” it brought us the success we wanted in all areas of our life?

Tired Of The I Can’ts?

   Tired of the I can’ts?  How many times have we and others we know say, “I can’t,” concerning a particular situation or condition in our life?  My gosh, I can’t take it anymore…ah ha, found the solution…instead of retreating into the numbness of  “I can’t” how about moving into the world of Possibilties and give the “I can’t” the heave-ho.

Now once we are tired of saying and living the “I can’t” life we enter into the world of new and wonderful Possibilities to participate in.  Participation is a key to opening the door to a more enthralling  living experience filled with successes prosperity, money, joy, happiness and the list goes on ad infinitum.   

Are you and I willing to give up the “I can’ts” and move into the realm of “Yes, I can?”  Yes, so how do we  go about it?  First let us make a conscious effort not to keep associating ourselves with a particular situation or condition.  The more we identify with a negative the more of it will appear in our life.  On the other hand, the more we re-condition our thoughts and mind to the positives they will appear and multiply accordingly…great stuff, huh?

So now our objective is to let go of those conditioned thought patterns that have not been of benefit to us, except in knowing we no longer want them,  and bring in new beliefs, concepts and thoughts about what it is we want changed in our affairs and life.  The inner power and abilities we have must have a pattern of belief, thought, to follow to materialize in our life.  We begin by using affirmations, positive prayers (using the present tense), and repeating them to ourselves throughout the day, visualizing the end result and accepting it as fact in our life now.  Simple and effective ways in altering the way we perceive ourselves and our relationship to new and more beneficial trains of thought that will deliver unto us as we believe.  Of course we already know all of this,  so why don’t we change our thought, belief, concept about it?  It could be fear of…, a lack of self-worth, lack of faith in our ability to do so, etc.  If that is the case, then, we need to work on increasing our belief in ourselves and our worthiness to have greater good enter into our life.  We cannot be worried about what others may think or say about the changes we make…we have to do this for us and fulfill our desire to move forward to better living and better everything.  Above all, do not tell anyone that you are doing this!!  The reason is, you need to keep yourself  focused on the positives and not be derailed by the comments of others.  Your goal, to be free of lack and limitation in the specified area(s) of your life.  Become that which you desire and it will follow. 

Now, since you have given the boot to the “I can’ts,” celebrate “I can” and “I Have Now” attitudes.
