For many it consists of sending holiday cards and gifts, weaving through crowded parking lots hoping and praying that a parking space opens up near the store or mall entrance. Some are getting all the food and ingredients for holiday festivities and family gatherings. Some of us are traveling to see family and/or friends for the holiday(s). Some are staying home and having a quiet celebration. We are all busy one way or another.
Over the past year we have all had challenges in some area of our life, i.e. health, financial, work, etc.
As we move through this “uniqueness” and range of emotions we focus on moving forward and setting goals for the rest of the year and the New Year. It is important for us not to get so caught up in the problem that we are unable to see the forest for the trees. The more we focus on the not so wonderful situations the more prevalent and intense they become.
Thus, the reason for this article. No matter what comes down the pike it is how we decide to handle said situation. We can either react or act. The choice we make is important. By reacting we are allowing the situation to control us; by acting we are taking control of the situation. This is not to say we aren’t experiencing a slight panic or full range of emotions, it means we are deciding not to allow our emotional state to dictate the goings on.
So, on your Holiday To Do List take a bit of time for yourself and think of the goals you want to set, breathe, relax a bit, get focused and move forward with a song on your lips and in your heart.
Celebrate the beauty of life that is within you and let that glorious light of yours shine to the world and behold the miracle of you.
A Different Christmas Story was sent to me by a minister friend who is into mysticism and spirituality sans religion. I asked him for permission to print some of what he wrote and he said yes. I hope you find this not only interesting but informative.
To all, Let Your Light Shine!
From the vastness and darkness of The Great No-Thing which gave rise and birth to The All, from which all flows, visible and invisible, there is a Light that shines brightly within us called The Christ (Christos), a title meaning the anointed one. Each of us has this Light within us and to the point we recognize our spiritual power and ability to overcome the challenges in the desert of life, we find, have revealed to us, our true inner nature and life becoming a light in this world. The birth of the Christ (Christos) within begins with a pinpoint of light of understanding appearing in our mind. As we recognize it and follow this light of spiritual revelation, star in the east, we become en-lightened, as our inner wisdom and unconditional love marry, become as one, thus is the seed of spiritual understanding and awareness planted and as we nurture it and become enveloped in it’s love and light we transform over time, becoming more aware of our spirituality and inner power to overcome “what seems to be” with “the power that is.” In the ancient teachings of spiritual evolvement symbols and stories where metaphors and enhanced when a person of greatness came to be. You are a person of greatness and it is now time to write your new story with the awareness of your inner power and life to overcome seeming appearances of this life. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind, for you are and always have been the beloved.
As the great mystic Meister Eckhart stated,
“We are celebrating the feast of the Eternal Birth which God the Father has borne and never ceases to bear in all eternity… But if it takes not place in me, what avails it? Everything lies in this, that it should take place in me.” Meister Eckhart
“There exists only the present instant… a Now which always and without end is itself new. There is no yesterday nor any tomorrow, but only Now, as it was a thousand years ago and as it will be a thousand years hence.” Meister Eckhart
The beauty in life is in the beholding. The beauty of living is in the living. The beauty in you is the radiance of your smile, the gleam in your eyes, your gentle touch and knowing nod. The beauty of you is the light of individuality you share with the world. The beauty of you is you.
May your heart be filled with the light and love of the season,
My Christmas Gift. Earlier this year I died, crossed over and was brought back to life.
Once I was able to get back on my feet, creatively as well, I began this blog to share positive information for self-growth and self-awareness. Life is truly what we make it…I could have given up and did the “poor me” routine but I fought hard for a comeback with lots of support from my wife, who also gave me cpr. For months I was determined to achieve a life worth living and it finally happened. Overcoming obstacles is, in part, what life is about. Living is about using your mind, thoughts and beliefs to bring forth a life you enjoy. The longer we dwell in the dark hole of self-pity the more we exist and not live. We are humans being, what we are being is up to each of us.
Life is about understanding yourself, accepting yourself – quirks and all, forgiving yourself and others so that you can move on with living. If you are on the outside looking in, join the club. Be yourself and express the life within you. Yes, we all have qualities we either want to change or improve on, but, it requires being okay with who we are, building our self-confidence and self-esteem. Celebrate you. As we grow to like ourselves and love ourselves we initiate a change in our life that will prosper us in many ways, seen and unseen.
Who are you? You are a wonderful and beautiful expression of life with the power, talent and ability to experience the highest and best life has to offer. Never give up on yourself! I have hit lows, had the momentary lapse, and then, began the journey back up the ladder. Believe in yourself. I could go on and give you a variety of platitudes but they are not what this or I am about. I may not know you, but, what I do know is, the life in you is the same life that is within me; a life that is creative, good, kind and talented. I believe the life in you expresses through you for your greater good and the greater good of the world around you. You are a worthy and worthwhile individual.
You are my Christmas gift. I thank you for following, subscribing and sharing this blog with others. Most of all I am thankful that you are you. Today, unwrap the gift of you and enjoy all it has offer.
Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas. Let Your Light Shine!
