“Ya know, like I tell myself in da mornin’ over cawffee and munchin’ on a Taylor ham and egg on a hard roll: Get your act together, learn your lines, listen and get behind the character you’re playing, their backstory, ’cause in the long run its you.”

Thinking   Today’s Positive Thought is by James Allen, 1864-1912.

“They themselves are makers of themselves by virtue of the thoughts, which they choose and encourage: that mind is the master weaver, both of the inner garment of character and the outer garment of circumstance, and that, as they may hitherto woven in ignorance and pain they may now weave in enlightenment and happiness”

“The aphorism, “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he,” not only embraces the whole of a man’s being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstance of his life.  A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.”

Changes & Personal Letter

Pic Of Jay   Hello Friends,

There are changes coming to this blog, PCA.  Since I am now able to pursue career choices, which are near and dear, January will be last month that there will be daily posts of positive statements and articles.  There will be at least 3 posts per week of positive statements and on occasion articles.

Life is always full of changes and most are unexpected but changes are inevitable and life must go on and goals to reach.

This blog began in August of 2011 for purely cathartic purposes, to get my mind and creativity active.  The healing process from the full respiratory arrest and coma has taken time and persistence.  But, what I have learned about myself, family, friends, is priceless.  I have found that rebuilding my self-confidence in doing what I love has been an extreme task entailing lots of risks, being able to look at things in a totally different light, and has deepened my understanding of self, others and this world.  Having the support and love of my wife and dear friends to pursue my career choices has been and is immeasurable.

I am so thankful and appreciative of you, my fellow bloggers and followers, for staying with me through some dark and turbulent times.

Life is always presenting us with unique pathways to follow, if we dare.

Words cannot express my thanks for your comments and likes; they have strengthened me and my resolve in moving forward.

Should you decide to publish any of the articles which I have written please notify me and e-mail the name of the publication via the page titled “Contact Jay,” thanks.  In re-blogging or using any of the quotes please give credit to the author.

Thank you for your support and prayers.

As I begin my search for both talent and literary agents I know that you are backing me and that means the world to me.

Now for personal thanks to those who gave me opportunities early on.  I am thankful to all the editors/publishers who asked me to be a regular contributing columnist on positive attitudes for their publications and to interview successful local business owners.  I am thankful for being asked to speak to a variety of groups over the years.  I am thankful to our friend Ruth, who gave me the opportunity to be her successor on her television show and to create my own show and format many years ago.  I am thankful for my acting teacher, Jobyna, a wonderful and talented character actress.  I am very thankful to the director who recently cast me for a stage production, with much stage time and dialogue, and for her affirmative comments as to my acting chops (skills).  I am thankful to my first talent agent, Ruth, who backed me 100%.  To our friend Mokihana, a great talent, much Aloha.  Thanks to all of you for you.

Being thankful, even for the not so good stuff, is an important part of successful living.

Please stay in touch through the comment section and let me know how you and your goals are coming along.  Your comments will not be published

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this rather long post.

All my best to you always and in all ways,

Jay

Are You Kitchen Brave? Part 1 of 2

Are you kitchen brave?  Are you brave enough to be you in the kitchen of life?  Are you willing to walk into the kitchen of your mind to experiment and create your own unique recipe for success, prosperity and overall well-being?  Are you ready to break some eggs and mix things up? If so, continue reading and get ready to bake up some new exciting recipes for life.

We are always creating through our cooking, our baking, our thoughts and beliefs. Life has given each of us a mind and every moment of every day we have a variety of thoughts that shape our character.  Our thoughts, beliefs and concepts are the batter and dough of our life, we are forever taking the formless and giving it form.  From the mixing bowl of thought to the oven of life to solidify our creation.  We live in the kitchen of life, the kitchen of personal creation.

Creating recipes in the kitchen are about learning from what works in a recipe and what does not.  Some of our creations don’t turn out the way we planned and we have to go back to the recipe and make changes learning what will work to bring forth our desired creation.  Life is about learning what works for us and what does not.  From this learning experience we can enhance our life in prosperous and successful ways.

If we are truly interested in making our lives more fulfilling and more reflective of a robust and prosperous life then we must step into the kitchen of our mind and begin to create and bake a new way of manifesting the life we want, no more sitting at the kitchen table with a glass of ice cold milk waiting for the cookies to be set in front of us. It is time to be proactive and get our hands covered in flour and roll out the dough, ready the oven and get ourselves in gear.  Get your apron ‘cause this is gonna be one heck of a baking session.

Basic ideas/inspiration can be gained from; books, quotes, perhaps a platitude or two, or positive affirmations and informative articles which can begin to stir the creative juices. But until we decide to do something with these inspiring pieces we will only have the warm fuzzies and nothing more. Time to utilize our inborn talents and abilities and make the life we dream of and desire. The time has arrived to take action for our own self-improvement, which in turn will affect the world around us in positive ways. Time to get into the kitchen and create the cookie of your dreams!

Get out the electric mixer, flour, eggs, milk, butter, sugar, vanilla extract, baking powder and baking soda, the basics of the recipe.  We all have the basics at our finger tips; the challenge is what we are going to use to make it our own unique recipe. Are we going to use ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon extract, almond extract, add nuts or poppy seeds?  The combinations are endless and we can create the recipes we desire and if it is not to our liking we can change it up and make it better.  It is merely a batter of mind, no pun intended.  When we have mixed the ingredients together it becomes a batter or dough, to create a cake, a cupcake, a cookie or a jelly roll, perhaps cinnamon buns, the choice is always ours. What do you feel like today?

Part 2 tomorrow.

Our Success

Our success is in living life.  It is in living with a positive attitude and foresight.

Our success is in being focused. In having a clear vision of our goals and where we are going.  If we need a clearer vision of our goals and where we desire to go in life, we can use either or both visualization techniques and meditation to help us center and afford us the opportunity to fine tune or set new goals.  Sometimes in our fine tuning we see, that, we are stubbornly holding on to some “thought or belief”  that is hampering our forward movement which can necessitate the replacing of the goal or merely recalibrating our thought/belief to be more in line with our ambition without being mulish about it.

Our success is in being open to new ideas, in new ways of doing things, it is about being flexible in life, thought and action/deed.  Not everything in life is black and white or blatantly obvious.  It is the varying shades in-between that color our life , that make us who we are, that gives us our character and unique successes , it colors our ambition to be all we can and to be successful in what we have chosen to do with our life.  There is no standing idly by waiting for success to suddenly appear in our life or drop into our lap as we sit in our easy chair or on the sofa while watching television. Write down or create a treasure map of where you see yourself, use positive wording, write in the present tense and make use of colorful pictures for impressing your mind.  Success is not difficult.  It is only our perception and belief of how hard we want to make it.  Success is a fun adventure; it is filled with thrills and chills, warmth and color, with passion and enthusiasm, with tears-some of sadness in the letting go and some of joy and happiness in the welcoming in.

When we know and affirm that we always meet the right people at the right time and right place, it happens.

When we believe and affirm we are always in the right place at the right time, it happens.

When we believe and affirm that the right “things” appear in our life at the right time for our benefit, they do.

Success is in knowing that so-called chance meetings bring success to both us and the others involved.

Success is in listening and heeding our intutiion.

When we know and accept that life has been and is always for us, then, changes appear in our experiences.

The power of our success is in the power of our thoughts and beliefs.  It is in gaining new perceptions and new concepts about living and life.  It is up to us to be open to life and all that is now and always has been ready to bestow upon us for a better and greater life of success, prosperity, health, wealth and well-being.

Our success is in being us; for all our faults and foibles.

Grow, change, fine tune, appreciate yourself for you, for your talents and abilities, above all, for the uniquely successful character you are.

Success, and all that perks that come with it,  is knocking, open the door and welcome it into your life and affairs.

Contrary

Contrary.  I want to be contrary.  I want to be fictional rather than a non-fictional character.  I want a better life.  I want a different life.  I want….

Ok.  So, you don’t want to be the you you think you are.  You want to be who you really are, a unique and uniquely successful character, do I have that right?

Alright, then let us begin the journey into the world of make-believe or is it; haven’t quite figured that out yet.  Yep, imagination incorporated is now engaged in creating your new you, you dashing character you.  Did you bring your list to submit?  Have you definitely decided on the avenue you want to follow to this new you?  Are you now ready to discard the old clothes that cloaked your real you, your new you?  You know, that designer stuff really looks good on you, but I digress.  Back to the start.  Accept who you are and know you are okay just the way you are…gotta be okay where you are at in order to move forward into the new, well dressed, exciting you.

Be contrary, be daring, fling yourself out into the new and different…recreate, redesign is the order of the day.  Find your character!

Time to utilize your fantastical imagination, ah what the heck, fantasize about the new life and new you and have a good time.  Laugh at the ridiculous, squeal with delight, let your imagination run wild and then pick out the stuff that is really important and set it up as a destination and see it completed in that unique and colorful imagination of yours.  Gotta have color and sparkles and bright shiny stuff, dress it up to the max and have a good time with it.  Then when all is said and done…let it go and be thankful that imaginative process has given your thought stuff to the ethers to carry to the great stuff maker and let it come to pass.  You notice I say, let…you have to release  those exciting imaginings and thoughts to that invisible maker and let it do what it does best, deliver on time and in ways you are not even aware of.

Go for the gold you fictional non-fictional character you!

Enjoy the travels.
