Climb A Tree

Oh, to climb a tree again and view the world from on high.  To go berry picking in the forest and finding wild strawberries in an open field.  To swim at the local lake and enjoy toying away the summer with friends on a tire swing hanging from a walnut tree, playing ball, tag, hide and seek and a variety of other games.  To view a stagnant pond and marvel at the life that exists in and around it.  The awe, the wonder that we experienced as a child can never be lost, misplaced-yes, lost never.

There are days in my life that I miss the simple easy, fun days of childhood.  How about you?

Just because we are adults, chronologically, doesn’t mean we have to lose being awed and filled with wonder about nature and the world around us.  When was the last time you watched nature in action…butterflies flitting by, humming birds speeding from one flower to another, enjoyed the transformation of a tightly wound bud to full colorful, aromatic bloom?  Time to literally stop and smell the flowers along the path of life.  So many of us are cooped up in buildings, some with windows and some without, staring at a computer screen, shuffling paper, forwarding e-mails and all sorts of documents with the simple touch of the send key.  Some of the offices I’ve seen don’t allow any personal items on the desk or on the wall in the cubicle. Perhaps some have a screen saver of nature on their computer to help brighten up their work area.  Yet, there is nothing like the real thing.

Time to reclaim your childhood awe and wonder.

Why not take some time on your days off to get back to nature to enjoy; the tide pools at the shore, the life that is teeming around you as you hike a mountain path, a meandering path around the lake, walking the winding pathway at the local park and watching the interplay of the squirrels as they scurry along playing tag with each other, or reading a book underneath a tree.  Why not sip on a beverage on the lanai or porch and take in the beauty around you…beauty is everywhere if you but look and let your mind wander with wild and creative imaginings.  Geez, what does that cloud look like to you?

Take time to reconnect with life.  We have become so removed we lose ourselves from living life with awe, wonder and inspiration.  Breathe in the fresh air, give your lungs a break from the recycled air in the air-conditioned office and home.  Life is about living and being lively in thought and action.  Life is enjoying the splendor all around us and being amazed by the littlest things we encounter on a daily basis.  Today, stop and treat yourself to some fresh-cut flowers for your table.  Brighten up your living space and it will help to brighten you and your endeavors with a new splash of excitement, color and life.

Let that inner kid out to enjoy and play in the awesomeness of life.

Wanna go fishin’ at the pond or swimmin’ in the creek?

The Pool

The pool…a great summer relaxer; a place to cool off, exercise, have weekend get togethers, BBQ’s, clam bakes, and if no one is looking, skinny dipping on a starlit night, but I digress.

Yet, in order to enjoy the pool we have to prepare it for the summer festivities.  Removing the pool cover and inflated pillows from a green slime environment is not always the best or easiest of chores after a long winter.  It requires hard work and elbow grease to remove the slime, scrub it down with acid, and adding a new coat of paint to really clean and dress up the pool for the new fresh water that we will be filling it with for summer fun.  But all the hard work pays off in the end and soon we put the memory of cleaning behind us and enjoy the benefits of the pool.

Bet you are waiting for the analogy, well here it is.  The pool and cover represent our mind which lays dormant with old ideas, thoughts, beliefs and concepts closed up and covered in a green slime.  In order for a fresh new start one must begin the cleaning up with diligence and purpose for the fresh water, new fluidic thoughts, ideas, and concepts  to give us a new, invigorating, successful life.  Like the pool we remove the scum, drain out the stagnant thoughts, and create a new receptive consciousness to receive our greater good…this means skinny dipping.  What?  Skinny dipping! In other words, stripping off the old and diving into the new water for an invigorating experience and life.  Time to stand naked in the sun (figuratively) and let the rays of life give us new beginnings…time to bloom into who and what we really are…winter is gone, time to spring into summer with that new mental outfit.  You look marvelous, darling!

Life honors us as we honor ourselves.

We are empowered and given the abilities/talents to be; successful, wealthy, healthy, wise, joyous, and happy.  How much is up to  us.

You were created to experience the highest and best life has to offer, don’t ever doubt or forget it!!

You and everyone else has a purpose.  You give meaning to life just by being and by being and expressing your creative persona you enhance your life experiences which allows you to share with others your good fortune. Life is both give and take, take and give; it is a circle.  Life, the creative intelligence of the universe, desires to give to us in abundance and in order to receive we must be willing to take, receive, through the power of our thoughts and beliefs.  Then, as we receive we give back to the world around us and complete the circle.  Also, another key is increasing our self-worth and self-acceptance…there is a huge difference between knowing our worth and accepting ourselves and ego tripping…a really big no no!

This summer, stay as  positive as possible about yourself, others, situations and events.  Remember to utilize your intuition and act, not react.

I wish you a wonderful summer experience and a pool filled the invigorating waters of life.

Quite Contrary

There is a child’s rhyme which poses a question to a young lass, by the name of Mary, who apparently is quite contrary, how does her garden grow?

Well, how does our garden grow?

We all know when left unattended gardens and flower beds fill with weeds which overtake and choke the life and beauty out of the gardens and flower beds.

I remember my aunt weeding her flower beds every weekend.  The flowers were always beautiful and colorful.  As we weed out the negatives and fears that reside in our mind, we blossom into a beautiful and colorful expression of a life of abundance, beauty, prosperity and success.  Life is vibrant and so are we.

So, what about us?  Are we ready to weed our mental garden and let the beauty and vibrancy of life appear?

Just as in weeding a garden we start in one area and take it one step at a time.

Perhaps as we think about where to begin we have a revelation of what is going on that is constricting our living and receive an inspiration or two on how to move forward…finding the inner fortitude of, “I am not going to take this anymore” attitude; which is the impetus to jettison the garbage, weedy, thoughts and beliefs that have been hindering our blossoming success.

Life, as we all know, takes us at our own valuation.  As we weed out those strangling thoughts and beliefs we see a ray of light and improvements arising in our life.  We fertilize and water our mental garden with positive thoughts and blossoming new concepts about ourselves and our world

No one can make us change.  It is our decision whether we want to or not.  When we finally get tired of existing and decide to step up and forward to new and more profitable ways of being and living, then and only then will we initiate the weeding process and change  our life.

Our starting point is positive affirmations, using them daily and throughout the day as needed for positive re-enforcement. Visualization is a technique we can use to help us see where we want to be and enjoying the successful results.  Handing ourselves a congratulatory bouquet of roses is a way of showing our love and appreciation of ourselves in this endeavor.

Affirm your self-acceptance, self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth.  You were not created for mediocrity but for success.  You are meant to be prosperous and to live well.

We are more than adequate to be successful, no matter what we have been told, no matter where we are in life.  Many years ago I attended a talk by Og Mandino.  He was at one time successful, ended up living on the streets, went to end his life but…he became a well-known author and speaker.  There are those who read this blog who have been down and out, on the skids, and are now successful and mentoring others along the way.

How many inspirational people do you know other than yourself?  Inspirational people are all around us if we but look and listen.  Look at your life; what you have been through, what you have accomplished, what you have survived.

You are a phenomenal representation of life.  Don’t ever forget it and don’t ever give up on yourself!  Give yourself the credit due you.  Yeah, we’ve all had mistakes and problems which have occurred in our life, which was in the past.  Let go of  the past, and move on with living and flowering into a new vibrant exciting you.  Wallowing in the muck and mire of the past is not profitable; learn from it and move forward in living your life.

Look forward to the day, look forward to new beginnings.  Remember, you are a winner and never forget it.

Life is wonderful and so are you!!

Your Affirmation: I am a success now and no-thing can stop me from having  and accomplishing greater good in my life.”
