“Ya know, like I tell myself in da mornin’ over cawffee and munchin’ on a Taylor ham and egg on a hard roll: Get your act together, learn your lines, listen and get behind the character you’re playing, their backstory, ’cause in the long run its you.”

“You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition.  What you’ll discover will be wonderful.  What you’ll discover is yourself.”

Thought Mind   Today’s Positive Thought is by Dr. R.C. Barker.

“You are a creative human being.  Never forget this…You determine your own future…You are free to be a positive, creative person who has decided where you are going in life and uses the right-thinking method to attain your goals.”

Think of the conscious mind as the director and the subconscious mind as the actor.    Our conscious mind is always giving our subconscious mind a direction to follow, which it does without question.  What one believes with feeling and enthusiasm and does not doubt can come to pass.  Jay

Changes & Personal Letter

Pic Of Jay   Hello Friends,

There are changes coming to this blog, PCA.  Since I am now able to pursue career choices, which are near and dear, January will be last month that there will be daily posts of positive statements and articles.  There will be at least 3 posts per week of positive statements and on occasion articles.

Life is always full of changes and most are unexpected but changes are inevitable and life must go on and goals to reach.

This blog began in August of 2011 for purely cathartic purposes, to get my mind and creativity active.  The healing process from the full respiratory arrest and coma has taken time and persistence.  But, what I have learned about myself, family, friends, is priceless.  I have found that rebuilding my self-confidence in doing what I love has been an extreme task entailing lots of risks, being able to look at things in a totally different light, and has deepened my understanding of self, others and this world.  Having the support and love of my wife and dear friends to pursue my career choices has been and is immeasurable.

I am so thankful and appreciative of you, my fellow bloggers and followers, for staying with me through some dark and turbulent times.

Life is always presenting us with unique pathways to follow, if we dare.

Words cannot express my thanks for your comments and likes; they have strengthened me and my resolve in moving forward.

Should you decide to publish any of the articles which I have written please notify me and e-mail the name of the publication via the page titled “Contact Jay,” thanks.  In re-blogging or using any of the quotes please give credit to the author.

Thank you for your support and prayers.

As I begin my search for both talent and literary agents I know that you are backing me and that means the world to me.

Now for personal thanks to those who gave me opportunities early on.  I am thankful to all the editors/publishers who asked me to be a regular contributing columnist on positive attitudes for their publications and to interview successful local business owners.  I am thankful for being asked to speak to a variety of groups over the years.  I am thankful to our friend Ruth, who gave me the opportunity to be her successor on her television show and to create my own show and format many years ago.  I am thankful for my acting teacher, Jobyna, a wonderful and talented character actress.  I am very thankful to the director who recently cast me for a stage production, with much stage time and dialogue, and for her affirmative comments as to my acting chops (skills).  I am thankful to my first talent agent, Ruth, who backed me 100%.  To our friend Mokihana, a great talent, much Aloha.  Thanks to all of you for you.

Being thankful, even for the not so good stuff, is an important part of successful living.

Please stay in touch through the comment section and let me know how you and your goals are coming along.  Your comments will not be published

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this rather long post.

All my best to you always and in all ways,

Jay

My World

Variety Of Experiences, Part 2 of 2

Being successful is more than accumulating things i.e., money, cars, houses, jewelry, and the like.  Being successful is about being you, embracing yourself, accepting yourself and allowing yourself to express life in a joyous and happy way that represents you and from that come the “things “ of success.  Doing what we love, creating what we love from the invisible thought/idea and bringing it to life in the visible world of effect is what it is all about.  So many think of success as the attainment of “things”, the attitude of, he/she with the most toys wins…ha!  There is nothing wrong with having lots of toys but the attainment of toys should not be the sole motivation for being truly successful and having a life of well-being.

If we can think of life as a play or film that we produce, write, direct and star in it can give us a better edge on achieving our goal.  At times we write dramas, other times comedies, and of course tragedy creeps in from time to time but being the hero or heroine of this show we always come out on top in the end.  Time to write the script for success.

We write this script of success with our thoughts, attitudes, ideas, dreams and desires. As we progress there are script changes, scene changes, and lighting changes taking place within our mind.  These changes present to us a new point of focus, a new direction to follow for the next scene of our life of success.

Each and every thought that we incorporate into our life affects the outcome of any given situation.  Doubt and fear produce lack and perhaps self-sabotage.  Belief and faith in what we are doing produces success to one degree or another.  That is why it has been taught; keep a guard at the doorway of your thoughts.

Let us be careful in choosing the words we have in our script and how we set up for the next shot, how we direct ourselves and how we portray ourselves in this role of a successful, creative individual.

This is a basic simplified overview that can be used for reference as we write our script.

Continued success,

    Jay

Today’s Positive Thought

Today’s Positive Thought is by Jay.

In the movie, Jumping Jack Flash, Whoopi Goldberg has to find a code key in order to help a British agent, Jonathan Pryce.

The key the song is written in, Jumping Jack Flash-song by The Rolling Stones, is the code key…right in front of her and in an inspirational flash she realizes it.  So it is with us, the key is us and within us.  Open the door and set yourself free to a life of abundance, success, health, wealth and prosperity.  Enjoy the discoveries.

Hi

   Hi Everyone,

I am not one who shares personal information…yet today I want to share a few details in light that it can help you or someone you know who is in a quandary about where to go in life.

Last year I had a full respiratory arrest, in a coma and there was a bit of time that oxygen was cut off to my brain, no major damage but just a twinge, so I have had to learn to deal with that uniqueness.  It has taken an abundance of determination, facing challenges, and allowing me to experience whatever it was I needed to experience to get to where I want to go.  Slight as it may be it still has had a profound affect on all things in my life.  From these experiences I have gained better insight and understanding of myself as me.  Decisions have not been easy for me and things I used to do in a twinkling of an eye, well, took a very long time to accomplish, outside my norm.

This blog was my first step to regaining my creativity and life, literally.

Newness is in my life.  As I am gaining more strength and mental determination, coming into my own so to speak, choices/decisions have been made and are now taking form.  I have made a decision to follow childhood dreams and resurrect my acting and writing careers.  I have had a 36 year hiatus from the stage and 20 years from television.  Looking at some head and body shots from decades ago of a slimmer and full head of hair me, my wife and I just laugh and wonder where the hair went…ah, genetics.

Determination has been revived and new plans of action are taking place for the acting and writing careers.  In order to get my feet wet; before I reactivate my union membership and secure talent and literary agents, community theatre is my start.

Being a motivational speaker, writer, columnist, retired minister, and host/interviewer/creator/producer for two cable television shows all have been good prep work and stepping stones back to the fields I love and enjoy.

Looking back at my past accomplishments has enlightened and also astonished me…I forgot so much of what I did way back when.  How about you? Have you looked back at your past accomplishments, talents and abilities that have been in memory storage?  Take a bit of time and look back by creating a resume of your accomplishments.  If you are like me it will perk you up, spur you onward and forward.  It was in looking back that a boost of self-confidence filled my heart, my mind and my soul to pursue this new direction and it will for you too.

Don’t be like me and wait until you have that brush/experience with death to follow your dream(s).  Why not take a stab at something new and express your talents and abilities, dabble and get your feet wet, experience a new way of living and being; for that which is inside you is aching to be expressed.  Take a chance on yourself and allow yourself to be the you, you really are.  Know that to you all things are possible.

To all of you, thank you for being there and being part of my growth and continued growthI can’t tell you how important your support has been and is to me.  As the writing continues and new goals/ pursuits are achieved you will be one of the first to know.

Enter stage right…

Jay   (I have just received a phone call informing me of a role in, The Odd Couple.)

Baubles And Beads

Bells, whistles, feather boas, colorful baubles and beads, sequins, sparkles and all out gaudy make for a very colorful and unique day.  How colorful is your day?

We tend to get into a rut with everyday living and working.  Wouldn’t you like to jazz it up a bit?  I realize hanging a fuchsia feather boa on your chair or around your neck and Mardi Gras beads off the corners of the cubicle or picture are not the norm or even allowed in many workplaces, hence we are relegated to jazzing up our mind with the color and energy of positive and creative thoughts.

As we jazz it up, up there, it provides us with a wonderful feeling, permeates all we do and who we are–time to; end the drabbiness (my word), add color, energy, and sparkle to our being.  As we sparkle things up, up there, we glow, we effervesce and are open to new perspectives on life, answers to questions and problems appear with creative ways and resolutions.

Life is about being, being us, without creating too much of a stir, ahem, don’t want to scare people.  Coming from an artistic family (music, art, design) I like the classics and the different that has a style and co-ordination to the scheme/theme of the work.  Sometimes even the extremely outrageous finds a place in my “like” arena of life.  The point is, we are each unique individualized expressions of Life Itself.  Each of us is creative in our own ways.   In being successful it is important to be true to ourselves and not sacrifice ourselves just to succeed and be miserable.  Miserable is not part of successful living.

If we want true success and well-being in our life it is important for us to live our life and too, add color and dimension to our being.  Time to go from 1D to 3 D.

The gaudy bling dresses up the outside for “looks” but the real glitter and sparkle of life takes place within each of us.  Add a touch of color and sparkle to your day today.  Dare to be colorful you–without creating too much of a stir and should people look at you askance–smile and nod and let them wonder why it is you are so excitingly you.

YOU ARE AMAZING!

You are amazing!  We are amazing humans-being!  What we are being is up to our creative imagination.

Do you remember when you were but a little tyke what you wanted to be when you grew up?  Boy, I know my imagination was really active about a career path…how about you?  I wanted to be a cop, a fireman, a garbage collector – I thought it was cool to see the men riding on the outside of the garbage truck; at one point I wanted to be a doctor or a vet, a puppeteer-I wrote dialogue for puppet characters and presented shows in elementary school, actor, writer, chef.

Time to be a kid again.  Now let us use our creative imagination and play the game “Make-Believe.”  “Make-Believe” was one of the games my cousin and I created and played.  We would come up with a variety of ideas and begin to ad lib about being famous, traveling all over the world, all the things each of us dream about when we are children.

Ok.  I have a “what if” question for you.  “What if” you dreamed your dream and it became a reality?  Our creative imagination is the impetus to living a better life.  If we can imagine it and really want to go for it, we can.  When we read or hear the phrase, “Life is what we make it,” why not imagine a better life and cease to imagine the not so good continuing in our life.

Wanna play “Make-Believe” with me?  Can your imagination come out and play?

What is needed is a piece of paper and a number 2 pencil or fountain pen; sorry, those old school days are making an appearance.  Below is what you need to play.  Writing  down these “things” helps to reinforce them in your mind.

1. A very active and creative imagination.

2. A sheet of paper.

3. A pen or pencil.

4. Write down, with complete abandonment, your “Make-Believe” “things” you want to achieve and/or experience.

5. Using your creative imagination visualize these things coming to pass.  Do so with a happy and thankful heart, a smile on your face, see yourself laughing and really enjoying yourself with all these “things” of “Make-Believe.”

If you desire to have more money in your life, see yourself, literally rolling in dough (monetary kind).  Envision yourself throwing all this money up in the air and enjoy watching it flutter down ,around and to you and all the good you can do with it for yourself and others.

If it is for health, see yourself healthy and enjoying your life.

For success, see how you look and feel about being successful in your endeavor; and all you are doing with your success for yourself, others and the world around you.  I am sure you get the picture…so let the game begin!

As you write down your “Make-Believe” list, believe in it as a child would; with all your heart and all your mind without question.  Remember this is playtime and you get to be a kid again and happily believe upon a star.

6. When you have written down your list, as detailed as reasonably possible, fold it up and put it in a favorite book or place that reminds of you good things and happiness when you look at it.   If you get down just remember your “Make-Believe” list with a smile and believe.

7. YOU ARE AMAZING!    Your list is phenomenal and filled fun and great things.  You are really good at this game!

8.  PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES. THANKS

Comments will only be posted upon your request.

You are an amazing human-being!
