Goals
Prior to the New Year celebration people talk about making resolutions. Many of us have never made resolutions but have set realistic goals for the coming year. Resolutions are things that are easily broken and ignored. Goals we set are those things that excite us to achieve to a successful conclusion. Nix the resolutions and set the goals.
In setting our goals we must be realistic, ones that are attainable, not so high that it will be impossible to achieve. I have known people who have done this and tell me, “See, goal setting doesn’t work.” Those we set as attainable goals need to stretch us and allow us to grow into a new understanding and utilization of our talents and abilities. Goal setting necessitates that we believe in our self to achieve and keep a positive mindset, especially when we run into an obstacle or take a step or two back, as we journey the road to a successful conclusion. Our goals are ones that come from an inner drive to succeed, to create something new and meaningful for our self and/or the world around us. Goals may be derived from our dreams and desires or an offhand remark that strikes a chord within us and we think, “Hmm, not a bad idea.”
Take time to think about what it is you want to set as goals for 2015; short, medium and long-range. Don’t overthink the goals, write down those that invigorate you and motivate you to achieve on either a personal or professional level or both.

I know you will be successful in your goal achievement in 2015.
